Publication Ethics Statement
Publishing ethics is the ethical norms and professional ethics that must be followed in publishing activities, and is an important guarantee for the healthy development of the publishing industry and the orderly dissemination of academic knowledge. It requires publishing practitioners to abide by laws and regulations, respect intellectual property rights, protect the rights and interests of readers, and maintain integrity, fairness and responsibility in the publishing process. In order to standardize the behaviors of all participants in the publication process of Marine Fisheries, in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations and relevant COPE guidelines and other international publishing ethics norms, and combined with the actual situation of the journal, the publication ethics code is formulated and stated as follows.
1. Author Responsibilities
Authors should follow good scientific research guidelines to ensure the authenticity and integrity of scientific records and avoid distorting research results. Papers submitted to the journal should meet the following requirements:
1) Ensure the authenticity of the reported academic results, the experimental data are not tampered with or forged, and the original records and experimental data should not be changed during the discussion of the article, and it is strictly forbidden to fabricate or artificially modify the data and charts in the article in order to support a preset conclusion. Ensure the reproducibility of the experiment according to the original recording.
2) Ensure the objectivity and accuracy of the reported academic results, the data records should be accurate, the analysis and discussion should be objective, and try to avoid exaggeration, errors and omissions.
3) To ensure the originality of the submitted paper, it should be promised that the manuscript has not been published anywhere before (partially or completely, including in other languages) and that there is no multiple submissions of one manuscript, and that there is no plagiarism or abnormal repetition of the content of others' papers. For unavoidable repetitive words or pictures, they should be cited reasonably and correctly, and they should be cited or clearly stated. When using the figures in the published literature directly or partially modified, the copyright ownership of the figures should be clearly stated and the permission to use them should be obtained through formal channels. The journal uses the CNKI academic misconduct detection system(AMLC) to check the plagiarism, and conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis and monitoring of the repetition rate of papers.
4) Ensure the confidentiality of confidential information, and strictly prohibit the occurrence of confidential information that is not allowed to be disclosed in the article.
5) Research involving animal experiments should comply with relevant ethical standards and relevant national laws and regulations.
6) Ensure that all authors of the manuscript have made full contributions and are collectively responsible for the results of the research; before submitting the manuscript, ensure that the content of the manuscript has been agreed upon by all other co-authors and institutions. Authors should be sorted by the size of their contributions, and other contributors should be mentioned in the acknowledgements. It is not allowed to include anyone in the list of authors without his/her consent, and it is strictly forbidden to name persons unrelated to the paper. Requests to add or remove authors when an article has been accepted or is in the revision stage is a significant issue and will only be considered after receiving written permission from all authors and detailing the reasons for the change to the original authors. The decision to accept changes rests with the journal editorial office, and authors should submit relevant documentation to verify the legitimacy and validity of the request.
7) The revision and improvement of the manuscript is an important guarantee for the published content, and the author should revise and improve the article according to the expert review opinions and editorial editing opinions and submit it according to the time requirements. After the manuscript is accepted, the "Confirmation of Responsibility for the Publication of Marine Fishery Papers (Copyright Agreement)" must be signed.
8) Academic controversy in the process of peer review is an important part of scientific research, and the review opinions should be treated objectively and rationally, and if there is any objection, you can submit an appeal to the editorial department and provide relevant defense materials.
2. Editorial Responsibilities
1) Abide by the national policies and regulations on journal management and the various systems and norms of journals, adhere to the :“three reviews and three proofreading”system, and strictly implement the review procedures.
2) Each submission should be handled in an objective, impartial and scientific manner. The decision to accept (acceptance) or reject (rejection) a manuscript should be strictly based on the academic quality, innovation, writing quality and review opinions of the reviewer. There should be no prejudice based on the author's race, nationality, seniority, position, etc., and there should be no personal gain involved.
3) In the peer review process, double-blind review should be used, and reviewers should be selected from researchers who are most familiar with the research direction of the manuscript but have no conflict of interest with the authors. When there is a large difference of expert opinions, more expert reviewers can be considered. Based on the results of peer review, the authors will be provided with complete, detailed and clear suggestions for revisions or reasons for rejection (inappropriate wording may be reformulated but the original meaning cannot be changed).
4) Fully respect the review opinions of reviewers, as well as the rights and interests of authors, including the author's request to circumvent a certain reviewer; authors are allowed to raise objections to the review comments (mainly the reasons for rejection) of the article, and the editors should give response and make explanations, and if necessary, invite appropriate experts to review again.
5) Answer every question raised by the author carefully, scientifically, rigorously and in a timely manner.
6) Authors' submissions should be processed in a timely manner within a reasonable period of time, to ensure that research results that meet the requirements and quality standards of the journal are published in a timely manner, and to shorten the manuscript acceptance and publication cycle as much as possible.
7) CNKI academic misconduct detection system is used to detect the replication ratio of papers.
8) All unpublished papers must be kept strictly confidential.
9) For the published papers if the editorial department or the author or reader founds any error and informs the editorial department, it should be revised or withdrawn in time after verification, and the relevant database should be notified to modify or withdraw the manuscript synchronously.
10) To prevent academic misconduct in the process of submission, review and publication, for manuscripts with academic misconduct, if the evidence is sufficient, the editorial department will include the authors and reviewers involved in academic misconduct in the list of bad records, and give integrity warnings and notify the author's unit through appropriate means.
11) Actively connect with and develop new reviewers.
12) Do not use editorial rights to seek improper benefits. If the editor finds that there may be a conflict of interest with him or her while processing the manuscript, he or she should take the initiative to avoid it, and the editorial department will transfer the manuscript to other editors for processing.
3 Reviewer Responsibilities
1) Fair evaluation, from the significance of the topic (scientific value), research level, writing quality, rationality of argumentation, etc., to give objective, detailed and clear opinions on the review manuscript, so as to help judge the quality of the paper and guide the revision and improvement of the paper. The limitations of personal scientific understanding should be fully considered, the independence of the author's academic research should be respected and the enthusiasm for innovation should be encouraged, and the reviewers' opinions should explain and cite the basis of the evaluation as much as possible, and provide literature and information on the views and facts of evaluation when necessary.
2) Try your best to fulfil your review responsibilities and give feedback on the review opinions in a timely manner. If you are not familiar with the research content of the manuscript or cannot review the manuscript on time for any reason, you should inform the editorial department of the reason and possible extension time in time, or withdraw the review as soon as possible; It can also recommend others for review according to the actual situation.
3)If the reviewer and the author may have an interest in any aspect, or if the author interferes with the review during the review period, the reviewer should immediately withdraw from the review and explain to the editorial office.
4)The review opinions should be expressed as objectively as possible, avoid the use of subjective expressions and suspected personal attacks, and the reviewer should not use the review right to deliberately suppress or belittle the manuscript under review.
5) The reviewer has the obligation of confidentiality for the content of the reviewed manuscript, and shall not disclose the content and related information of the manuscript without permission, nor shall he save a copy of the manuscript.
6) It is clear that the review also includes the review and control of scientific research ethics, and the reviewer should pay attention to possible academic misconduct such as plagiarism, forgery, and violation of research ethics, and if there are suspected academic misconduct problems such as improper citation and redundant publication, they should be reminded when giving feedback on the review comments, so the editorial department can further verify or ask the author to give necessary explanations.
7) For the reviewer's personal research results that may be inspired by the manuscript under review, the information in the manuscript under review shall not be used without the prior consent of the author or citation of the manuscript after publication.
4 Responsibilities of the Publisher
1) "Marine Fishery" is co-sponsored by the China Society of Fisheries, East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, and the Science Press, and published by the Science Press. The sponsors, publishers and editorial departments of journals perform their respective duties and responsibilities, jointly abide by the ethical standards of academic publishing, and publish scientific papers accurately, timely and impartially.
2) The publisher ensures that each published paper meets ethical standards in the following areas: research ethics, academic publication ethics, confidentiality, author attribution, corrections, clarifications and retractions, and timely publication of the content.
3) The publisher shall ensure the autonomy of the editor's decision-making and shall not interfere with the editor's decision-making right.
4) All published content of the journal is open access.
5. Determination and Disposal of Academic Misconduct
For the identification of academic misconduct issues such as copy, plagiarism, falsification of data, and multiple submissions, the editorial department will preliminarily present relevant evidence based on a prudent and responsible attitude, and submit it to the journal sponsor to organize relevant experts for further confirmation.
